Haley Hodge

My name is Haley - I'm an artist based in New York, primarily working in oil and acrylic.

With degrees in Art Practice and Urban Studies, my art primarily focuses on the way in which people shape the spaces they inhabit. Cities are created by people and evolve constantly as we alter and reproduce them. This means that experiences and even physical places in cities are unavoidably transient. I try to capture these moments and ephemeral spaces to memorialize places and people that exist that are bound to change in the face of a city’s evolution. From bands performing in dive bars to marches towards City Hall to people wandering on the street, I explore how cities shape interactions, movements and inequalities as the cities themselves change.
